Tryout Information

Before tryouts we will have an information session about what being a part of the UGA Mascot program entails and what all to expect at tryouts that will be lead by current mascots and our coach. This session will be sometime during the first week of April. Please fill out this doodle pool so we know what time works best for everyone for this meeting ( https://doodle.com/poll/hwu8wn95hs79ckp2 )! This meeting is not mandatory so if none of these dates work for you don’t worry. However, it is highly encouraged that you attend if possible.

 

For tryouts this year it will be different depending on if you are trying out for Spike or Hairy Dawg. During both tryouts you will be in the mascot suit you are trying out for. Spike tryouts will still consist of a 2-3 minute skit like in years past. Hairy Dawg tryouts will consist of an initial improv round where you will be put in situations Hairy has to deal with to see how you react. We will also play a quick 30-45 seconds of either a band (i.e. glory, dixieland) or normal song (i.e. wop, soulja boy, juju) for you to dance to. We will also be watching for how you look and move in the suit during the situations. If needed, there may also be a second round for the top tryouts that would consist of an interview and/or getting in suit during an actual UGA Baseball game.
